New York 2014
Our story
We are Amélie and Aline from Belgium. We first met in 2013 in boarding school and quickly became inseparable.
Our shared love for travel led us to take our first big trip together—New York at the age of 15, for three unforgettable weeks.
Escaping reality felt like exactly what we needed so that’s how our first adventure earned its name: The Great Escape.
It was, without a doubt, the best and most freeing experience of our teenage years.
From that moment on, we were hooked on the thrill of travel—and on each other’s company.
People even started calling us a “Package Deal”.
After high school, Amélie took a gap year, living in Florence and volunteering in Costa Rica and South Africa.
Naturally, Aline came to visit! When the gap year ended, we moved in together in Ghent, where we both studied.
Every spare moment (and every euro we earned from our student jobs) was spent on two things: traveling and food.
We love exploring new destinations and new cultures, and for us, the exploring starts way before the trip.
We’re creative souls that enjoy planning and make it look pretty.
So every chance we get, we create nice looking itineraries - even for trips we’re not going on ourselves!
After five years of living together, life took us in different directions.
Aline moved to Paris, then Ireland for work, which only gave us more excuses to travel.
Two years later, Amélie decided to move to Vietnam—because, well, why not?
Over the years, people have constantly asked us for travel recommendations—where to go, what to eat, where to stay.
For so long, we talked about doing something with our passion and experience,
but, as you know, it’s easy to find excuses to put things off.
But finally, we’re making it happen!
We’re so excited to share our adventures with you and bring all our tips and recommendations together in one place.
We hope you enjoy!
Lots of love
