In the Morning:
-
Riviera
My favorite café in Copenhagen. Riviera serves a beautifully curated Danish breakfast plate and the most delicious spiced buns and pastries. If you're in the city, this spot is a must. The interior is effortlessly cool, and the crowd? Just as stylish. Choosing only one photo to feature here was no easy task.
-
Atelier September
A Copenhagen classic, best known for their whipped butter (yes, it’s as good as it sounds). A must on any itinerary. If you can, grab a seat on the terrace – the morning sun there is something special.
-
Apotek 57
Another favorite, and a well-known spot for good reason. Their Danish breakfast plate is amazing. It’s popular, so don’t be surprised if there’s a queue – but it’s absolutely worth the wait.
-
Andersen & Maillard
If you love pastries, give this place a visit. Andersen & Maillard serves the best pastries in Copenhagen, and the shop itself is as charming as the treats they offer. A sweet stop you won’t want to miss!
-
The Roe Bar
Tucked inside the Louise Roe store, this spot blends chic interiors with a calm, cool vibe. They serve great coffee, matcha, and a few pastries – the perfect pause while browsing beautiful design.
In the Evening
-
Restaurant Calma
A standout Italian spot in Nørrebro. While their pasta is hands down the best I’ve ever had (and yes, I’ve been to Italy), they offer so much more. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors in Copenhagen.
-
Bottega Barlie
A charming wine bar perfect for an evening out. With a menu full of delicious sharing plates, it's an ideal spot to unwind. Their terrace is lovely, but I especially loved sitting at the bar – the vibe there is unmatched.
-
Bar Vitrine
A cozy wine shop I stumbled upon, and it was buzzing during afterwork hours. Inside, people were happily seated, but the outdoor vibe was just as lively. Everyone was enjoying delicious wine, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed evening with great company.
Must Do’s
-
La Banchina
The go-to spot in Copenhagen for sunny days. Right on the waterfront, it's perfect for a refreshing dip followed by a glass of natural wine. The relaxed atmosphere and scenic views make it a must-visit when the sun is shining.
-
Studio Arhoj
This is a funky ceramics studio and shop in the center that blends Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese design traditions to create unique, handcrafted pieces. Visitors can watch artisans at work and explore a range of colorful ceramics and glassware. A perfect spot to find a distinctive souvenir or gift!
-
Reffen
Reffen is a food market with over 50 food stalls, bars, and creative workshops. It's the perfect spot to savor global flavors, enjoy live music, and soak in the lively atmosphere by the harbor. A must-visit for food lovers and culture enthusiasts!
-
Copenhagen Contemporary
This art center specialises in showcasing large-scale contemporary installations. One standout exhibit is James Turrell's "Aftershock," an immersive light installation that envelops visitors in cycles of coloured light, creating a sensation of spatial boundaries dissolving - it was crazy. In the best way possible!
-
Ny Carlsberg Gyptotek
A stunning museum in the heart of Copenhagen, home to a beautifully curated collection spanning ancient to modern art. From Egyptian sculptures to French impressionists, it’s a dreamy mix of eras. Don’t miss the lush Winter Garden – or the rooftop, which offers great views over Tivoli Gardens.
