HA GIANG LOOP
The Ha Giang Loop is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking places to visit in Northern Vietnam.
You can choose between a 2-night, 3-day tour or a 3-night, 4-day tour. We opted for the shorter option, but if you have the time, I highly recommend going for the 4-day version. Even though we didn’t have the best weather, the experience was still incredible! Along the way, you pass through charming local villages, take in stunning views, and immerse yourself in the authentic beauty of the region.
There are several tour operators to choose from, depending on the kind of vibe you're looking for. If you're into a livelier, party atmosphere, companies like Jasmine Tours might suit you. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, there are plenty of calmer options as well.
We chose a private tour with Bibi Tours, including private room accommodations, and paid around $200 USD. One thing that made Bibi Tours stand out is that they take you on smaller, local roads rather than the main routes, which really enhances the authenticity of the journey.
You can either drive yourself or ride with an easy rider (a local guide who drives you). If you're not completely confident on a motorbike, I strongly recommend going with an easy rider—the roads can be very challenging. With an easy rider, you can sit back, enjoy the views, take photos, and just relax.
If you have the chance to request a specific easy rider, ask for Ho. He’s an incredible guy with a fascinating background as a chef—don’t forget to ask him about his story!
