Nomada Republic is a unique mountaintop hotel made from stacked black shipping containers with a sleek, minimalist interior. The drive up was a challenge in our tiny rental car, but the views (when the clouds cleared!) were incredible. A cool and different stay.

Las Nubes is a cozy restaurant right next to Nomada Republic, serving delicious food in a warm, welcoming space. The real highlight? A massive window offering breathtaking views over Valle de Antón—worth a visit for the scenery alone.

Cerro La Silla is one of the more scenic hikes in Valle de Antón, taking you along a narrow ridge with sweeping views over the valley below. We did it at sunrise, and watching the clouds roll through the volcanic crater as the sun came up was truly magical. It's a short but steep climb—definitely worth it if you're up for an early start!

Volcancito’s was a lovely lunch stop. It’s set on a peaceful terrace overlooking the hotel’s pool, and we were honestly surprised by how good the food was—fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a relaxed midday bite.

Cascada Las Pailas is a beautiful waterfall tucked away in the lush surroundings of Valle Antón — but getting there is part of the adventure. You definitely need a 4x4 to reach it. We missed the sign where you can hop into one of the local pickup trucks, and let’s just say getting back was a bit of an unexpected mission. But hey — now it’s one of those travel stories we tell all the time and laugh about every single time.

El Valle Market is a fun and lively stop right in town. We picked up loads of fresh limes here for our daiquiri apero after the waterfall adventure. Besides the fruit, you’ll find all sorts of souvenirs and local goodies—perfect for a quick browse or picking up a few treats.

While we only did one hike, Valle Anton offers many more trails to explore. It’s a perfect spot to connect with nature, stay active, and take in stunning views.
