Valle Anton
After our unforgettable time in the San Blas Islands, we hit the road to begin our mainland adventure,
with Valle de Antón as our first stop.
This charming town is tucked inside the world’s largest inhabited volcanic crater in the world
— a fascinating fact that definitely sparked our curiosity.
Surrounded by lush ridges and forested hills, it’s a peaceful spot to slow down
for a day or two if you find yourself passing through.
There are plenty of nice hikes and bike tours to choose from, including a waterfall nearby.
We loved doing the Cerro La Silla ridge walk at sunrise, which treated us to stunning views.
We stayed at a lovely hotel where we spent a relaxed afternoon making daiquiris
and soaking in the view from our balcony.
Though the weather kept us from exploring as much as we’d hoped,
Valle de Antón is a great little stop to unwind and enjoy nature’s calm.
