SAIGON
This is a curated list of all Amélie’s favorite places since moving to Ho Chi Minh City in January 2025. It’s a mix of Western comforts and authentic Vietnamese cuisine, along with the best hotels.
Coffee culture is huge in Vietnam, so I’ve included my favorite coffee bars. Be sure to visit one, but also try a classic street-style coffee spot for an authentic experience—think cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk) or cà phê trứng (egg coffee).
And of course, no list is complete without the best rooftops for a great cocktail or a fun night out!
Hope you Enjoy!

This café is renowned for its artisanal sourdough cinnamon rolls, featuring unique flavors like Earl Grey cream, matcha black sesame, and miso caramel. In addition to its baked goods, Garden Kisses offers a curated beverage menu, including various matcha drinks and specialty coffees. I hate Monday
This is a supercool spot in Saigon, created by a Korean duo. They’ve nailed both the vibe and the food, making it a great place to hang out any time of day. The menu is full of fun, flavorful dishes with a creative twist. Whether you're grabbing brunch, lunch, or dinner, you’re in for a good time!
-
Greenbox by Soma
I come here almost every week—oops! The food is both delicious and healthy. You have to try their Carbonara Udon Noodles… so good!
-
Satsuma house
Satsuma is owned by a young Belgian couple (Camille and Leo). They serve incredible food with stunning views of the Saigon River (not in the picture). Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just drinks, it’s got you covered. Sunset here is a must! Plus, there’s a pool and a Pilates studio, so you can chill, work out, or just soak up the vibes.

Yeshi Taiwanese Kitchen
I recently discovered this Taiwanese "night market" restaurant, and it instantly became one of my favorites! The food was absolutely incredible—so delicious that Taiwan is now officially on my travel list and soon a dedicated page on TGE :)
-
LỬA
LỬA has its own farm, so you can really taste the quality in every dish. Their wine selection is just as impressive, with a sommelier to help you find the perfect pairing. The atmosphere is super nice, and since it’s close to my apartment, I love spending an evening here. If you’re into wine, I highly recommend it! And for dessert lovers (or even non-dessert people like me), don’t skip the madeleine—it’s totally worth it!
-
NÚC Concept Kitchen & Bar
Vibes, great food, live music!
-
Quince
Quince Eatery is a cozy spot in District 1 that blends Mediterranean flavors with modern twists. Set in a beautifully refurbished colonial house, it has an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs work their magic over wood-fired ovens. The menu features bold, fire-grilled dishes like spicy salmon tacos, grilled duck breast, and amazing house-made sourdough with roasted bone marrow. Their upstairs bar is perfect for a pre- or post-dinner drink. A Michelin-recognized gem, Quince is definitely worth a visit if you love great food in a warm, stylish setting!
-
Little Bear
If you are looking for a bit fancier, I can highly recommend little bear. Especially their wines are super good. The food was also amazing, Vietnamese fusion, just bear in mind that it’s a bit higher priced.
-
Mặn Mòi
Whenever we have friends or family visiting us, we always go one evening to this restaurant. They serve delicious Vietnamese dishes in a beautiful setting. You have one in D1 and D2, but I prefer D1.
-
Quan Bui
Good restaurant to try some Vietnamese dishes.

Just discovered this amazing area in Ho Chi Minh City—it’s like a mini Japan tucked away in the city. The streets are lined with cozy Japanese restaurants, and the atmosphere is really cool. Be sure to book ahead, and check out Google Maps to find even more hidden gems in the neighborhood!
