KSAMIL

Ksamil, at the very south of Albania just across from Corfu, was where our beach holiday really began after exploring the Albanian Alps. We spent three days here to slow down, reset, and enjoy the sea.

While Ksamil is known for its beach clubs and lively summer atmosphere, we visited in the low season and kept things very relaxed, mostly staying around our hotel. It was the perfect contrast after the mountains.

In this section, we’ll highlight our hotel and also one standout restaurant in Sarandë, about a 30-minute drive away, that absolutely deserves a special mention.

HOTEL: ARAMERAS RESORT

We stayed at Arameras Resort and it quickly became one of our favorite stays on the Albanian coast.

Each room is its own private villa, with a fairly simple interior, but the real focus here is clearly the outdoor experience. The whole resort is beautifully designed around outdoor living — from the beach to the pool and all the different areas — which makes it perfect for a seaside stay.

There’s a private beach with an excellent restaurant right on the water. The standout for us was the shrimp Caesar salad, which was so good I ended up ordering it every day. Breakfast is included and was consistently very good as well.

Getting around the property is easy and fun thanks to the golf carts, which take you between the villas, beach, pool, and other facilities. There’s also a great pool area with its own bar and restaurant, plus plenty to do on-site: a padel court, tennis court, and even an outdoor gym.

It’s a place designed for relaxing and staying active at the same time, and we really enjoyed the balance of comfort, facilities, and direct beach access.

RESTAURANT: LOST SEASIDE - SARANDE

This is the first time we’re highlighting a restaurant like this, but it absolutely deserves it.

We had dinner at this beach club in Sarandë, about a 30-minute drive from Ksamil, and the setting was unforgettable — especially at sunset. Sitting right at the edge of the terrace, with direct views over the ocean as the sky changed colors, made the whole experience feel very special.

The food was excellent, the cocktails were just as good, and the service stood out in a region where many places are still quite new and developing. Here, everything felt smooth, attentive, and well-run.

It’s both a beach club, bar, and restaurant, but dinner was definitely the highlight. If you’re in the area, this is one place we would highly recommend for a sunset evening by the sea.
